Annual Update

We recently held our virtual Annual Update event, this year online. The event offered the Foundation’s supporters, researchers and Ambassadors an insight into the past years’ activity. We featured presentations from Dr Richard Williams (The Scar Free Foundation Centre for Conflict Wound Research), Professor Iain Whitaker (Swansea University Medical School) and Mr Justyn Hollett (Ambassador for The Scar Free Foundation, and mental health advocate).

Dr Richard Williams

Dr Richard Williams - 'DeScar'

Dr Williams presented on the project 'DeScar'. The team at The Scar Free Foundation Centre for Conflict Wound Research are developing a dressing that actively prevents scar formation and will be especially relevant for conflict and hostile environments.

Professor Iain Whitaker

Professor Iain Whitaker presented on the 3D Bioface project, taking place at Swansea University. The team are working on 3D printing tissue-engineered ‘cartilage’ for use in facial reconstruction, a pioneering treatment that allows printed living tissue to be tailored to the individual needs of the patient

Mr Justyn Hollett

Our Ambassador, Justyn Hollett, tells his story of living life with faith, not fear.

Professor Sir Bruce Keogh

Scar Free Chairman, Professor Sir Bruce Keogh, reiterates the Scar Free mission and thanks donors and the wider Scar Free family for their support.
