Scar Free Update Event

This autumn, we hosted our annual update event at the Royal College of Surgeons. The afternoon offered supporters and guests an overview of our Scar Free projects and also provided the perfect opportunity to premier our new Scar Free Ambassador video.

Guests heard from Scar Free Researcher Dr Beck Richardson, who presented on the discovery science work due to commence at our newly funded research hub in Bristol, and how this will lead to a better understanding of the genes behind scarring.

Scar Free Ambassador Hillary Dodson spoke about her involvement as a patient representative for The Scar Free Foundation, part of our ongoing commitment to involve those with a lived experience of scarring across our range of work. We also heard from two of our student electives - Liam Cato and Molly Pinckston - who last year received funding to undertake scar free research projects. Both students received an award for submitting highly commended final reports from Elective Adviser, Martin Mace.

Our new video, featuring some of our wonderful Scar Free Ambassadors, was shown for the first time at the event. The video, which you can view below, really demonstrates why our scar free mission is so important.
