Simon’s Story
Simon Weston CBE survived severe burns to his face and body after his ship, the RFA Sir Galahad, was attacked during the Falklands War. Simon Weston has been The Scar Free Foundation’s Lead Ambassador since 1999.

Dr Jaco Nel was hospitalised with sepsis in 2016 after a cut got infected. He now lives with scarring on his face and hands, and is a double amputee.

Elizabeth Soffe survived severe burns across her whole body when she was six months old. She was awarded Child of Courage by the Pride of Britain Awards in 2022 after raising over £200,000 for the hospital that saved her life.
