Thank you for joining our first ever Scar Free Foundation Community Event!
The Scar Free Foundation's first ever Community Event on keloid scarring brought together clinicians and those with lived experience for an inclusive, informal community evening.
Thursday 21 May 2026
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the first event in our new Scar Free Foundation Community Event series for an evening focused on keloids.
The evening brought together attendees from across our community for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion on keloid scarring.
It was so heartening to see people coming together to share experiences, ask questions, and contribute to such an important conversation.

Our free, informal Scar Free Foundation Community Event series kicked off with a keloids-focused evening on Wednesday 20 May
Throughout the session, attendees heard from GP, and Scar Free Ambassador and Trustee, Hemani, and Consultant Surgeon Mr Simon Filson and colleagues, who explored key themes around keloid scarring, and reflected on the importance of continuing conversations and action in this space.
The energy, openness, and engagement in the room highlighted exactly why creating spaces like this matters.

Hemani, a GP, Scar Free Foundation Ambassador and Trustee, gave our event attendees a warm welcome.

We were thrilled to welcome Mr Simon Filson, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Evelina London Children’s Hospital with an interest in keloid scarring, to the event.
As this is the beginning of a new series, attendee feedback will play a vital role in shaping future events. We are committed to ensuring upcoming sessions continue to reflect the interests, priorities, and experiences of our community.
If you attended the event and have not yet shared your feedback, we would love to hear from you:
Thank you again to everyone who attended and supported the event! We’re very excited to continue this series and look forward to sharing details of future sessions soon.
