India takes on charity skydive to become our latest Gale-force fundraiser
Scar Free Ambassador India Gale took on the skies - and raised almost £4,000 for The Scar Free Foundation!
Saturday 26 September 2026
India Gale is no stranger to curveballs, but after her skydive to support Scar Free research was rescheduled multiple times due to weather, we got worried. Would the repeated rainfall dampen her enthusiasm? Would the heatwaves hamper her sunny outlook?
Not possible, it turns out. “I loved doing the skydive!”, India said, “and I was so glad to do it for Scar Free”.
As soon as the weather allowed, India was soaring through the clouds, raising a whopping £3,886 for The Scar Free Foundation!
For India, scarring is personal. When she was just three years old, India’s dress caught fire, leaving her with third-degree burns covering 40% of her body.
She spent months in intensive care and has since undergone years of reconstructive surgery, living with scarring across her thighs, stomach, arms, neck and face.
Today, India is a Trainee Solicitor and an advocate for people living with scars. As a Scar Free Ambassador, she uses her voice and her own experience to highlight why research into scarring matters, and why a future where fewer people have to live with its lifelong impact is possible.
Thanks to India and the incredible generosity of her supporters, India has now raised almost £4,000 to help fund pioneering research that could transform the future for millions of people affected by scarring.
India’s lived experience of living with scars, and wanting to raise awareness of the life-changing impact of scars, serves as her main motivation:
- “I am so proud of the life I have and fortunate that my scars have not hindered me from pursuing my dreams and goals.
- I have had amazing surgeons, incredible and supportive family and friends and have been able to pursue a career in law.
- Nonetheless, to think I could have lived a life without scarring or that someone else could have an accident like mine and never deal with that same trauma feels unimaginable.
- With Scar Free, that dream is a very possible reality”.
A massive thank you from all of us at The Scar Free Foundation! And thank you to everyone who donated, shared India’s fundraising page and cheered her on along the way.
Every donation you give brings us one step closer to a future where no one has to live with the lifelong impact of scarring.
