We’re delighted to announce that The Scar Free Foundation has successfully passed the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) 2025 Expert Review Audit! 🎉
This achievement recognises our commitment to funding research through a fair, independent and rigorous review process, helping ensure we invest in the highest quality research with the greatest potential to improve the lives of people affected by scarring.
Passing the AMRC Expert Review Audit confirms that our research funding processes meet the AMRC’s six principles of expert review: recognised standards designed to help charities identify and support the very best research.
For our supporters, this provides confidence that:
- Every research application is independently reviewed by experts.
- Donations are responsibly invested in the most promising research.
- Funding decisions are made fairly, transparently, and based on evidence.
- The research we support has the greatest potential to improve treatments, care, and quality of life, for people affected by scarring.
Every donation to the Foundation supports research that aims to transform prevention, treatment and recovery for people living with the physical and psychological impacts of scarring.
Before we fund any research project, it is carefully assessed by independent experts. This process helps ensure that every funding decision is based on scientific excellence, fairness and transparency.
The AMRC Expert Review Audit provides independent recognition that our funding decisions are made through a trusted process that puts scientific excellence first.
We’d like to thank everyone who makes this work possible: the expert reviewers, our researchers, Trustees, partners and supporters!
Together, we’re helping fund research that has the potential to change lives.
