Assistant psychologist wins £100 Craniofacial Poster Prize sponsored by The Scar Free Foundation

We’re delighted to congratulate Assistant Psychologist Hannah Waterhouse on winning The Craniofacial Society Conference Poster Prize 2026!

Hannah, who works in the Paediatric Psychosocial Team at the Regional Cleft Unit, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, received the £100 prize sponsored by The Scar Free Foundation for her poster presentation ‘Growing up with a cleft: What children know and how families understand’.

Hannah’s poster explores how cleft services can improve information for children and parents, helping understanding and autonomy in decision making.

Hannah’s work highlights the importance of understanding children’s experiences and family perspectives in cleft and craniofacial care, helping to improve psychosocial support and patient-centred approaches.

On her award, Hannah gave a:
