Sir Bruce Keogh becomes Scar Free Foundation Chairman

Professor Sir Bruce Keogh has become Chairman of The Scar Free Foundation.  Sir Bruce, National Medical Director of NHS England and a Scar Free Foundation Trustee since 2014, took over from Stuart Rose, Lord Rose of Monewden, at a meeting of the Board on Tuesday 18 October 2016.

Before becoming Medical Director of the NHS in 2007, Sir Bruce was a cardiac surgeon in Birmingham and London.  He established the National Audit Cardiac Surgical Database in 1994, renowned for the public dissemination of clinical outcomes.

Sir Bruce takes over the Chairmanship of The Scar Free Foundation from former M&S Chairman, Stuart Rose, who has led the charity since 2010.

“I am looking forward to leading the charity as we begin to realise our ambition of scar free healing in a generation. Stuart leaves the charity in great shape with an exciting new vision, a clear research strategy and a strong fundraising base.  I’d like to pay tribute to Stuart’s contribution as Chairman and before that as Appeal Chairman.  He will be missed on the Board but I know he will continue to support our work in ways that only he can”.
