When you have a scar, you can’t ever take it off. You wake up with it.
You go to sleep with it. It’s always there. But you learn to accept it.
You learn to accept yourself, and it gets better.

Today, the healing process is so much better than it used to be,
but there’s still a long way to go. The idea of scar free healing within a generation
is like something out of Star Trek. It would be an astonishing thing to achieve.

But it’s also not just about the practical side of things, the research that’s being done,
it’s also about the emotional support and the acceptance.
It can just boost you up, and I think that could be so helpful for so many people.
